e-Registry Staff at Work

The e-Registry is an Information System designed by the ITC Unit of the Lands Department, funded under the Vanuatu Short Term Land Reform Initiative, for the purposes of digitally archiving all lease records in the Land Registry Section.

The system was launched in June 2009 as a short-term solution but since then, it has proven to be a sustainable long term solution for the Land Registry.

The system has basic search and tracking functions for documentation.

It allows effective and efficient use of human resource and equipment capacity.

Overall, it fast tracks all the necessary work that a Registry Officer can produce.

As of May 2010, 5,033 application documents have being scanned into the system, 2,116 of those applications are new application. Of those applications, 1,009 have been approved.
