| Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) | As a party to the convention, one of the requirements is for Vanuatu to develop a strategy and action plan to manage and conserve biodiversity. The National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) Project produced a strategy which has a listing of plants, animals and habitats that are known to be significant element's within Vanuatu biodiversity. Also, the strategy highlights the ecological, social, cultural and economic factors which are relevant. Also, the strategy highlights the list of endemic species, species of cultural or economic value, species that are locally vulnerable to over-exploitation and species that are rare or vulnerable. | Signed in 1992 and ratified it 1993. |
